There’s another gardening show on tap this weekend in the Central PA area.
This time it’s the 9th Annual PA Herb Festival. The fest begins on Friday and is being held at the York Expo Center.
Not So Perfect Timing
The thing that I like best about the gardening shows that are scheduled in late spring is that you can purchase plants, herbs, and seeds and usually the weather has settled enough to begin planting them right out into the garden.
Well the weather doesn’t seem to be cooperating this year and the recent cold snap has definitely given gardeners everywhere reason to think twice about the timing of planting and seeding this year’s vegetable garden. Hopefully the cold is behind us now and things will rapidly warm up.
PA Herb Festival Schedule
Regardless of the conditions outdoors, it will be comfortable inside the York Expo Center for this weekend’s herb festival. The show starts Friday, April 13th from 12 noon to 7:00 pm, and concludes on Saturday April 14th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The PA Herb Festival will offer the usual line up of gardening lectures and seminars, cooking demonstrations, garden exhibits, and a large number of vendors selling plants, crafts, herbs, and gardening supplies.
Admission is only $6.00 and children under 12 are admitted free. For more information you can visit the herb festival website at www.paherbfestival.com.
Garden Herb Fest Agenda
Over a dozen interesting gardening lectures and workshops are scheduled over the two day event. Topics include:
- How to Start an Herb Business
- Planting by the Moon
- You are What You Eat
- Refrigerator Drying & Microwave Pressing of Herbs
- Herb & Flower Arch Workshop
- All About Tea
- Aromatherapy for Health and Wellness
- Cooking with Herbs
It may still be winter-like outdoors, but the York Expo Center will offer a more spring-like environment at this weekend’s 9th Annual PA Herb Festival.
